Answer: For most people a guy running toward them would be a frightening experience but for the properly trained it is a chance to rip someone's hand IN HALF. How awesome is that?

Let me explain:

A guy I know that has been through extensive military training (no training) told me in order to vanquish an attacker running towards you with their palm out you simply grab his fingers and rip his hand in half. Don't think you can run out today and do this because you must train for around 17 1/3 years in order to reach this level. Good luck!
